Thirty people have been brought in for questioning Thursday morning in Craiova, southern Romania, after authorities fighting organized crime and terrorism raided dozens of homes of suspected arms traffickers.

Romanian Organized Crime Prosecutors To Question 30 Suspected Weapon Traffickers

Authorities on Thursday morning searched 53 homes in Craiova, Bacau (eastern Romania) and Pitesti (southern Romania), in a sting operation aiming to restructure a major arms trafficking and credit card fraud ring.

The suspects are accused of illegally introducing firearms and ammunition in Romania, which they allegedly sold to gangs in Craiova. The suspects are also accused of cloning bank cards and defrauding several banks in the European Union.
