According to Government Decision no. 1,327 of Oct. 31, 2007 regarding the expenses for the national referendum of Nov.25, 2007 on the introduction of the uninominal voting system for Romanian parliament elections, the allotted sum was RON47,349,000 (EUR13.5 million).
 
Only 26.04% of voters attended cast their vote in the referendum on Sunday, which made politicians argue the president’s initiative was a failure.
